middle east agitation nation

In recent days it has come to light that those in power in the Middle East have one of two things on their mind:  either democracy for their nations and peoples OR supreme personal power and the retaining of a slave nation.

Nowhere is this more evident that in recent events that display armed militia coming out and killing innocent demonstrators while in other countries they simply moved to follow the suggestions of the masses and handed over the government to temporary government militia while a new democratic government is established.

If it were to take place in this country,  I am not so sure that it would be any different than what we see now with real bullets taking down the protesters.  This country is not one to give in to demonstrations and has already amassed the goods to light innocent people on figural fire as well as manufacturing more toxic gas than any one continent needs in its hands.  To top it off, with current gun control laws, the only people who would have access to guns are the drug dealers and criminals.  Those of us who would need them for defense against bad government would be shot and killed without even holding weapons in our hands.  The new underground militia for our rights would be the criminal element that presently runs the barrios and other seedy parts of town.

Not everything is what it is cracked up to be.  While we argue about what the president is doing or NOT doing, we also forget to mention that everyone in power in the middle east was assisted either in part or fully by this government. We keep them in place, we pay them off to keep from harassing us, we pay through the nose in every conceivable way that we can in order to keep a false peace at the expense of our nations people.  When are we just going to keep our noses out of other countries' affairs?  If we are the richest, we have a choice as to where we sell our goods and whom we raise arms for.  None of this is making any more sense.

It is about time that we let them kill each other off and then we can help with the restoration and takeover of the lands.  We can share them with Russia, China and whomever wished to take part in the restoration.  Perhaps a new continent can be created for the purpose of combining gene pools and finances and every other aspect of life in that famed NEW ORDER they have been creating for the planet behind every one's back.  Just stop the hypocrisy.  The reason America is having such a tough time controlling people is that it is going about the wrong way.   I am sure there are plenty of sheep who want government running every aspect of their personal and physical lives.  I am not one of those, but you need to understand there WILL be resistance.  I am one of them.  However, if you open up the can of worms and let everyone know the truth perhaps something good will come of it:  People will wake up to either fight to the death or run toward you.  It is only a matter of time before the inevitable confrontation.  Whom are we kidding anyway?

Putting things into perspective...

Here I sit just days after the president of Egypt was removed by way of mass demonstrations asking for him to step down.  Nobody thought it would happen.  And yet it did.  I applaud the people of Egypt for coming out into the open and risking their lives for positive change. This is at it should be all over the world: people standing against bad government and demanding change for themselves and their families. People massing together to make reform a reality and not backing down until they are heard.

And we sit here and make noise over the location of a Mosque. I think it is childish to whine about every little thing when so many other problems face the American People every day and they ignore them because it might mean REALLY having to WORK for those changes.  We have become a society filled with lazy people who simply expect government officials to do what is right when, in fact, left to their own devices, they can fall into a pattern of self-serving "temporary autocrats", much like the former president of Egypt.

Happy St. Valentines Day!

THANK YOU, NOREEN STARR!!!!

This has been a hectic month with the planning of our Halloween party and redoing our Wedding Vows on Halloween Night (our wedding anniversary).  I had been waiting for the right time to order crystals and between that the photo shoot at Studio 19 was scheduled and cancelled at the last minute...

Construction began at the salon and was concluded 3 days later.  Then, for three weeks, additional finishing touches were added;  a complete re-paint as well total modification of seating and processing areas, pedicure stations and flat screen televisions which were placed in every conceivable spot for client comfort.

In the midst of this, Noreen Starr, one of our more colorful clients, offered to assist me in obtaining Swarovsky Crystals from her company in Manhattan.  (They supply an amazing array of crystals, buttons and other items ( from the mundane to the luxurious) for the millinery, costuming and clothing manufacturers in NYC and abroad.)  She took my order and brought it to the salon so that I could begin my work on the feather ornaments but I have not had a moment free to continue working on the ornaments since they were delivered.  GLUE became the problem.  My sister Marge (owner of the Botanica San Lazaro and  Inner Peace Center in Clifton New Jersey) offered me what she said was the main glue used for attaching the crystals and I accepted her gift.  After NOREEN verified its use in the industry I asked her about a location where it might be obtained and, again, she told me she had a connection in the city who supplied that particular glue: E-6000 clear.  Turns out everyone knows about the stuff.  but she obtained a dozen tubes and delivered them to me at the shop and I am grateful for her coming to the rescue again.  THANK YOU NOREEN STARR!  you are a gem to me, your boss and your other business partners!

The new Studio 19 (photos to be posted shortly) is the perfect place to relax, enjoy your services and feel at home.  I do hope you will give us a try.

FACE MAGIC:  remember the Fashion Week outing?  Well...I took an image of myself wearing the feather ornaments when I got home that night and was horrified at my dangling jowls.  The following day I started using 2 serums I ordered on line and my jowls have disappeared by 70% or more in less than 4 weeks. OK so the secret is Hyaluronic Acid and the other is Matrixyl 3000.  Both are available through Elskabar.com or other places on the net.  Prices are $30.00 for each one ounce bottle in an airless pump and are more effective than anything I have ever tried.  Results are FAST for most people and truly remarkable.

For those of you wishing to contact Noreen Starr about WHOLESALE SWAROVSKY CRYSTALS please contact me through my email :    Elskabar@Yahoo.com

For those of you looking to try an amazing facial line or products, please go to Elskabar.com and purchase your items there.  Thank you.

MOTHER PLUCKER TO THE RESCUE!!!

This week I am expecting a shipment of special neck feathers from MOTHER PLUCKER whose staff I met at the International Gift Show in August.  Their feather samples were exquisite and some of the feathers flowed life fine spider webbing...movement with the slightest breeze.  As you can well imagine, my head is reeling with the possibilities for the line.  I will spend the coming weeks designing the Spring line as well as adding to the web site for purchase.

PLEASE remember that my work is in very limited numbers and first come-first served is key to the way I sell.

Of course, personal orders are welcomed and you can have input as to the finished colors as well as details is the piece is for something special.  The custom orders take several weeks to complete and are more costly than my other art pieces but justifiably so...  When you own the only ONE of its kind, SPECIAL is an understatement.

The best thing about MOTHER PLUCKER is that they were very responsive to my needs and understand that I will be working with whatever they can offer me that is NEW and exciting.  I think they want to be part of the inventive process.  And who can blame them?  I will certainly give them credit where it is due.  Sharing their name will allow them to grow as well.  I just hope they understand that I cannot have them disclose my purchases to anyone.

Fashion Week Friday, September 10, 2010

Brian and I set out for the city tonight filled with questions about what it was really about.  Well traffic was brutal on the viaduct entering the city so we detoured and took the ferry into town in stead.  We both sported the men's hats I wanted to use as back drops for my hat ornaments.  He wore a Ladies' ornament and I wore a man's ornament on mine.  I also wore a lady's ornament on my attached scarf that draped across a black, velvet embossed shirt I wore under the tight KOREAN vest I ordered through EBAY.  Tight black pants complimenterd and finished my outfit and he wore a checkered kiwi shirt with blue jeans and his black hat and matching feather and silk flower ornament in the same KIWI color.

Once in town taxi drivers made it difficult for us.  One man refused to take us unless we were going to 96th Street.  We were only asking for a ride to 45th and 5th.  We asked a girl on line to ride with us as she was cold (it was windy and brisk tonight) and she was going to the same location but west of us.

We meandered down Fifth Avenue among the crowds of people that were obviously headed in the same direction and for, probably, some of the same reasons.  It was VERY crowded there tonight.  Stored were jammed with people like jelly rolls over filled with cream....they simply poured onto the street where guards controlled their entrances and exits carefully to avoid pilferage and possibly hazardous conditions in the shops.  We got lots of smiles at our hats and many people commented on them.  One woman had a long conversation with us about feathers and that was nice.

The stores all did not exactly know what to make of us walking through as if we didn't need comments...but they offered them anyway.  At every store at least one sales person approached us to tell us how much they loved our hats.  (Those are the very people we need to market our ideas to...)  One man, whom, it seemed to me, appeared everywhere we went, turned out to be wearing his first hat ever that he purchased that day.  He was trying on a pair of leather pants that, doubtlessly, would ultimately cost him 2500 dollars if they cost one.  They were simply gorgeous pants in lamb skin...a deep, weathered forest green color.  At the same store I fell for a wonderful pair of boots but at 1200 dollars I had to pass them up.  Enough spending for shoes.  I am NOT Amilda Marcos!  (i am not amilda marcos...i am not amilda marcos...i am not amilda marcos...)  OK the mantra is working.  LOL

With cabs unavailable on the way home, we walked from 57th street and Fifth Avenue all the way tot he Ferry terminal on 35th Street  and the Hudson River.  It was a gorgeous night, cool and breezy so the walk was truly effortless.

I am going to keep myself alert for the next fashion week and make sure everything is in place for the coming seasons hats and clothing.  I WILL BE READY!

AN-R-KEYS

It was a long week and fruitful, if nothing more.  The International Gift Show in NYC proved to be the stomping ground of NYC Fashionistas again with more than 20 hat vendors at the show this season.I managed to get a look at all of the upcoming styles and colors as well as the designs that people tended to gravitate more toward.

Most importantly, it gave me an opportunity to showcase my design ideas with the hat vendors.  They received my hat jewels with great enthusiasm and offered to put my designs on their web-sites.  I also made contact with a beautiful boutique in Manhattan on 72 Street and a buyer from Japan who wants to see the line when my samples are complete.

The jewels seem to elevate the hat to another level of fashion excitement.  They take the mundane and transform it to glamorous in an instant.  The same can be said for sweaters, blouses, jackets and overcoats.  Scarves, purses, head-bands, hair, even shadow boxes benefit from the display.  Ornamenting is about as easy as place and magnetize.  If it holds, you are ready to go.

Pique your interest?  Head on down to Elskabar.com to see what styles are available for your purchase today.  There, you will find one of a  kind embellishments as well as stock styles for your group, production or band.

Because of the strong magnetic attachment, these items are not recommended for use by anyone using life saving equipment such as pace makers and other  biologically installed medical equipment.  Everyone else go out and start your collection now.  For more information, please contact me through Elskabar.com or write CrowAndDragon@AOL.com
